Question 1

How long has The Pool Boy been building swimming pools?

Accepted Answer

The Pool Boy is backed by Steve Lagasse's more than 20 years of hands-on experience building swimming pools. That experience helps homeowners work with someone who understands the pool-building process and can discuss their project directly with them.

Question 2

Does The Pool Boy build new swimming pools?

Accepted Answer

Yes. New swimming pool construction is a primary focus of The Pool Boy. If you're considering adding a pool to your property, the first step is to tell Steve a little about what you have in mind and where the property is located.

Question 3

How much does it cost to build a swimming pool?

Accepted Answer

There isn't one honest answer that applies to every property. Pool cost can vary based on size, design, features, equipment, site conditions, access, finishes, and other project requirements. Instead of giving you a misleading generic price, Steve can discuss your project and help determine what would be involved.

Question 4

How do I get started with a new pool?

Accepted Answer

Start by requesting a pool consultation. Tell us where the property is located and what you're considering. Steve can then discuss your ideas, property, timeline, and the appropriate next steps.

Question 5

Can I talk directly with Steve about my pool?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Personal communication is an important part of The Pool Boy. Rather than feeling like you're being passed through a large organization, you can have a real conversation with Steve about what you're trying to accomplish.

Question 6

Why should experience matter when choosing a pool builder?

Accepted Answer

A swimming pool is a major construction project and a significant investment in your property. Steve brings more than 20 years of pool-building experience to the conversation, which can be especially valuable when evaluating your property, discussing options, and understanding the construction process.

Question 7

Can you help me decide what type of pool will work for my backyard?

Accepted Answer

That's one of the things you can discuss with Steve. Every property and homeowner is different. Your available space, how you plan to use the pool, desired features, and other property considerations can all influence the project.

Question 8

Can I add a spa, tanning ledge, waterfall, or other features?

Accepted Answer

Pool features depend on the individual project and design. Tell Steve what you have in mind during your consultation so he can discuss which options may make sense for your pool and property.

Question 9

How long does it take to build a pool?

Accepted Answer

Construction time can vary depending on the project, design, permitting, site conditions, scheduling, weather, and other factors. Steve can give you a more meaningful idea of what to expect after learning about your particular project.

Question 10

Do I need permits to build a swimming pool?

Accepted Answer

Pool construction is generally subject to local permitting and code requirements, but the exact requirements depend on the property and jurisdiction. Steve can discuss the process applicable to your particular project rather than giving you a generic answer that may not apply.

Question 11

What should I think about before meeting with Steve?

Accepted Answer

Think about how you want to use the pool, who will use it, the features you like, your preferred style, and when you'd ideally like to begin. Photos of pools you like can also be useful when explaining your ideas.

Question 12

I don't know exactly what kind of pool I want. Is that a problem?

Accepted Answer

Not at all. You don't need to have everything figured out before contacting The Pool Boy. A conversation with Steve can help you start thinking through the possibilities and determine the appropriate next steps.

Question 13

Can The Pool Boy look at my property before I make a decision?

Accepted Answer

The first step is to provide some basic information about your property and what you're considering. Steve can then determine the appropriate next step for evaluating the project.

Question 14

What areas does The Pool Boy serve?

Accepted Answer

The Pool Boy serves select local areas. Because service availability can depend on the location and project, send us your city or ZIP code and we'll confirm whether your property is within the current service area.

Question 15

Does The Pool Boy offer pool renovations or remodeling?

Accepted Answer

Services beyond new pool construction depend on the type and scope of the project. If you have an existing pool that needs significant work, tell us what you're considering and Steve can determine whether it's a project The Pool Boy can help with.

Question 16

Does The Pool Boy clean and maintain swimming pools?

Accepted Answer

The Pool Boy name may sound like a pool-cleaning company, but the primary focus is swimming pool construction backed by Steve's more than 20 years of pool-building experience. If you're looking for another type of pool service, contact us and we'll let you know whether it's something we currently handle.

Question 17

Do you offer financing?

Accepted Answer

Financing and payment options should be discussed based on the current options available for your project. Contact The Pool Boy and Steve can provide the applicable information rather than the website promising a financing program that may not fit every situation.

Question 18

Do you provide warranties?

Accepted Answer

Warranty coverage can vary depending on the project, equipment, materials, manufacturers, and other components involved. Steve can explain the applicable warranty information when discussing your specific pool project.

Question 19

Why choose The Pool Boy instead of a large pool company?

Accepted Answer

For homeowners who value experience and direct communication, The Pool Boy offers something straightforward: access to a local pool professional with more than 20 years of hands-on pool-building experience. You can discuss your project with Steve instead of feeling like you're simply entering a large corporate sales process.

Question 20

How do I request a pool consultation?

Accepted Answer

Use the consultation form on this website or call The Pool Boy directly. Tell us your name, phone number, property location, and a little about the pool you're considering. Steve can then follow up to discuss your project and determine the next step.
